Do you ever get tired of those PowerPoint presentations? Do you find it difficult to really make your PowerPoint presentation look professional? Then maybe you want to checkout one of these presentation apps for your mobile device.
There are a few good ones out there. How about Keynote, Prezi, Deck, or Haiku Deck. I think I have found my new favorite, but lets take a look at these and see how they differ.
Keynote is now a free app for Apple that has many great options. This app allows you to play a Keynote presentation created on your desktop machine or create one on your mobile device. It has different themes that you can select and lets you import photos, graphs, charts, shapes, etc. One of my favorite features on this app is that when you use your device to present through a projector, you can show the next slide on your device so you know what is coming up next. One of the things I don't care for is that once you pick a theme I haven't found away to change the theme unless you take it back to a desktop version of the software.
My favorite thing about Prezi is how it makes your presentation zoom in and out and doesn't do the traditional bulleted list. Prezi requires you to log in to your account and saves your presentation on their site. This app creates a beautiful presentation, but you need to be careful of what the audience experience will look like. It is easy to get a little sea sick if there is too much zooming in and out. I also think if Prezi is overused users could get tired of seeing Prezi presentations.
Deck creates very professional looking slide shows but is very limited. If you are looking to create a simple slide show with just one point per slide and want to create something quickly, then this might be the app for you. I found this to be very limited in the options available.
Haiku Deck is very easy to use but creates some elegant looking slides. You can create your presentation on your mobile device and then share them on a projector. One of the best features of this app is the large collection of images available in the Creative Commons. It is for all these reasons that Haiku Deck has become my new favorite. There are some images and themes that are available as an in-app purchase, as well.
Do you have a great presentation tool that you have used on your mobile device? Let us know what you have tried.
